Introduction - Saltcake Media Lab is Saltcake’s in-house research team, experimenting with new technologies and interactions to explore “the essential value of happy experiences.” It builds and exhibits new media technologies such as VR and AR, holograms and motion recognition, and carries the insights gained into the experience design of client projects.
“Ohbot” is the robot guardian of visitors’ messages. More than cute and fun, it shares and prints visitors’ messages posted on Facebook and collects them in the “Oh Guestbook.” Visitors could decorate their printed messages by drawing their best memory of the exhibition, and Ohbot chose the top five drawings and gave their creators a gift. We wanted to create two guestbooks: a physical one printed by Ohbot and an online one made of Facebook messages.
This work was shown at “Oh!”, the interactive exhibition by Saltcake Media Lab held in Hongdae, Seoul, from September 16 to 28, 2014.
