Introduction - KT is Korea’s leading telecom company, launched in 1981 as the Korea Telecommunication Authority and providing a wide range of services including wired and wireless communications, internet and IPTV. Under its olleh brand, it introduced new mobile services for the smartphone era, creating experiences that connect customers’ daily lives with communication.
In the early 2010s, mobile finance in Korea was just beginning to spread and NFC services were still unfamiliar. Complex authentication and limited compatibility made finance-SIM features hard to use day to day, and carrier apps simply listed functions. KT needed a new experience that made the full range of NFC services, including VOA, easy and secure to use in a single app.
Simplifying Complex Authentication
Placing finance-SIM authentication at the center, we clearly structured the menus around why people use NFC. Complex financial authentication was streamlined into a flow first-time users could trust.
Everyday Life with a Single Tap
Bringing everyday services such as transit payments, memberships and access authentication into one app, we designed an experience where a tap of the phone keeps daily life moving. A structure refined to run reliably across devices improved the accessibility and practical value of NFC services.
