Introduction
MBC (Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation) is a leading Korean terrestrial broadcaster that began broadcasting in 1961, bringing viewers news, dramas, entertainment and current affairs programs. Centered on its flagship news brand “Newsdesk,” it delivers trustworthy news on air and online, creating new news experiences for the digital age.

As news consumption expanded from text to video, photos and live streams, users wanted to browse the news faster and more intuitively. Separate broadcast and digital news systems limited access and scalability, and the way news was classified was not ready for web and mobile, so MBC needed a more integrated and convenient platform.

Analyzing content flows, we restructured the information around how people consume news, from breaking news to in-depth coverage, programs and reporters. A modular UI that raises the visibility of top stories, multidimensional category filters and clear distinctions by media type created a UX built for news, connecting broadcast and online news in one interface.

Key Features

• A modular home built around breaking and top news

• Integrated broadcast and digital news UX

• Multi-axis browsing by topic, reporter and program

• Clear distinctions between video, text and photos

• News flows optimized from the user’s view
