Introduction - FADU is a semiconductor design company innovating flash storage technology and the supply chain for hyperscale data centers and high-performance servers. Since 2015, it has been dedicated to semiconductor innovation for the rapidly growing data needs of businesses from its bases in Korea and Silicon Valley.
When evaluating a company, people often mention its “technological edge” in the market. But more people listen when a company talks about its “possibilities and vision” beyond technology.
For FADU’s IR (Investor Relations) website, Saltcake set out to tell every part of that story: How fierce is the competition with global market leaders such as Samsung and SK Hynix? What are the philosophy and values behind its management? How many people are watching FADU?
Case Intelligence Summary
Pain Points
After its IPO, FADU needed a more advanced IR channel to communicate with investors at home and abroad.
An IR website shares not only proud news like strong results but also disappointing news like a falling share price, showing a company's vision and feeding investor opinion back into management — which is why more than 97% of listed companies use one actively. FADU drew attention for its innovative semiconductor technology and growth potential even before its IPO, and became known to retail investors through the media and social networks. When its share price surged after the IPO and expectations turned into results, it needed a more advanced channel to communicate with investors at home and abroad. With contracts and investment from overseas tech companies growing around Silicon Valley, overseas investors had to be part of the picture.
Strategic Lens
We combined the Korean style of “visualizing performance” with the overseas style of “direct communication.”
An IR website goes beyond legally required disclosures to tell a single investment narrative about the company's situation and value. To shape it, we analyzed how IR sites work at home and abroad. Korean companies such as Samsung, SK and Kakao show results and share prices in charts and figures on the main page, while overseas companies like Facebook and Tesla emphasize direct communication through the latest press releases, schedules and webcasts. For FADU we combined Korean-style 'performance visualization' with overseas-style 'direct communication'. Since most visitors are people interested in investing, we prioritized fast, accurate information through a refined, simple layout.
Creative Approach
A refined layout and rectangular Box UI expressed the solidity of a semiconductor company.
To convey the solidity and trustworthiness of a semiconductor company, we made a refined layout and rectangular box UI the core visual language. The box UI gives a consistent experience while evoking the robustness of the chip industry. Because the most important thing in IR is the trust that nothing is hidden and everything is easy to reach, an accordion UI lets investors open the information they need without leaving the page, cutting unnecessary clicks. Drawing on global IR patterns with overseas investors in mind, we designed the main page around visitors' convenience first.
Delivered Experience
We built an IR website where reports and press releases are reachable straight from the main page.
We built an IR website where reports and press releases are reachable right from the main page. Combining visualized key indicators with easy access to the latest information, it strengthened communication with investors at home and abroad. After an IPO, a company's moves matter to investors as much as to customers, so FADU needed a channel that conveys its vision, strategy, market position and growth potential beyond financial data. The IR website became the foundation for investor communication that speaks of possibility and vision, not just technology.
