Introduction - The Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) is a public foundation established in 1974 by the late Chey Jong-hyon, former chairman of SK Group, with the goal of national development through nurturing talent. Through overseas study scholarships, academic exchange and research support, it has fostered scholars and researchers active in Korea and abroad, and works to broaden exchange across disciplines and the sharing of knowledge.
The Korea Foundation for Advanced Studies (KFAS) ran a range of programs including scholarships, international exchange and academic research support, but scattered information made it hard to grasp the foundation’s role and value at a glance. It also needed digital communication that conveyed the trust and expertise of an academic institution. Saltcake worked with KFAS from site consulting to renewal.
Scholarships, Research and Exchange in One Flow
We structured the content around the foundation’s core programs and redesigned the information architecture so scholarships, research, international exchange and archives can be explored in one flow. Complex public-interest information was rearranged from the user’s perspective so visitors reach what they need right away.
A Digital Tone Built on Trust
We defined a brand tone and an archive-centered visual system reflecting the foundation’s public mission and expertise, and prepared a UX/UI guide and information standards that keep working as programs grow, improving operational efficiency.
