Introduction - Founded in 1969, Samsung Electronics is a global electronics company leading markets worldwide with a broad range of products and technologies, from Anycall mobile phones to TVs, camcorders, home appliances and semiconductors. Driven by design management, it has grown into a world-class electronics brand by innovating both product experiences and brand communication.
Samsung’s global design centers needed a platform to manage design data from around the world and connect knowledge, trends and project information among designers. Research materials, experiment results and resources kept separately by region had to be brought together with standardized UI and data structures to encourage global collaboration.
Analyzing how global design teams work, we redefined a knowledge cycle of design insight, resources, labs and community and built the DOMA platform on it. A modular information structure integrated scattered data, and an exploration UX connecting project, trend and material research greatly improved collaboration and access to information across centers.
Key Features
• A modular structure for integrating global center data
• A knowledge-cycle UX based on design insight
• Projects, trends and materials connected together
• Better global collaboration and access to information
